If The Beatles mention a location in one of their songs, you know that it has to be pretty important – and that’s exactly what the ‘shelter in the middle of the roundabout’ is. Even if you’re not a fan of The Beatles, there are plenty of reasons why you might want to visit the coastal suburb of Mossley Hill – a region famed for its confectionary, its patisseries and other words ending in ‘ies’.
So, what else is there to do here?
There’s a population of about 15,000 residents, according to a recent poll, but as the beach is just a short drive away it should come as no surprise to hear that the nearby town gets quite empty during those warmer Summer months. The famous Penny Lane Wine Bar can be found on… you guessed it… Penny Lane and this attraction offers a great range of wines, sourced from around the world.
If you don’t fancy drinking yourself silly however, then you might appreciate the quaint architecture that features prominently in the region. There are a couple of churches as well – you don’t have to be religious to enjoy their gothic style. If you’re looking for nightlife then there are several wine bars, eateries and bistros dotted along Allerton Road, so you’ll undoubtedly be spoilt for choice.
What about the beauty salons and hair care clinics in this region?
If you fancy being pampered to your heart’s content, you won’t be disappointed. Mossley Hill offers a variety of well-known branded salon chains, as well as privately owned facilities. Some specialise in traditional treatments while others offer more modern alternatives, so you should be able to find one that appeals to you.
