The small town of West Kirby is easily one of the most appealing that we’ve ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. It’s in Liverpool and is situated right on the beach front, offering residents and visitors plenty to see and do all year around. With a low population of roughly 8,000 people, a dedicated shop front on The Crescent and a host of exciting landmarks to enjoy, you really will feel like your visit wasn’t long enough.
What is there to really get to grips with?
If you are into shopping, you will be pleased to learn that there are a selection of privately owned stores dotted along what we’d call the high street, although it is still fairly quiet when compared to other suburbs that we’ve visited. There are a few schools (primary and secondary) nearby, making this area pretty nice for families to relocate to, but if you’re just visiting then you might want to spend your time as close to the beach as possible.
Why is this? Well, it’s where all of the fun stuff happens! There are annual events that take place along the boardwalk, as well as a variety of restaurants and cafés just a short walk away from the sea front. There is an over ground railway station as well (aptly named the West Kirby Railway Station) and it connects to a range of areas in and around Liverpool, just in case you’re not travelling into the town by car.
We’re here for the beauty salons!
Of course you are, why else would you be on UK 10 Best? Fortunately for you we’ve made a point of finding out as much as possible about the local salons in this region – and you’ll be happy to hear that there are several to choose from and enjoy. You’ll find some that specialise in hair care treatments exclusively, while others offer both beauty and hair services to their clients.
Thanks to recent renovations, more and more salons and clinics are popping up each year and we’re sure that if you revisit this coastal suburb in 12 months, we’ll have even more exciting salons for you to learn about and enjoy!
